Beginning tomorrow, and available through Oct. 19, there’s Armor of Heroes, a top-down, multiplayer tank battle that cribs on Relic Entertainment’s long-running Company of Heroes series. Armor of Heroes offers nine game types set in four maps, with destructible scenery and AI opponents. It’s also Remote Play Together compatible. Engines developed When I went back and revisited some of the Game Gear library, it was both Shinobi games that stood head and shoulders above the rest. They're really good games. Dragon Crystal was among my first games on the system and I enjoyed it, though it can be infuriating in spots and the difficulty spike at the end is crazy. Fatal Fury Special was another one I liked a lot. Rastan got a Game Gear release in Japan, and that's a great game.
Since retro gaming is a popular pastime for many players new and old, there has been an increase in new consoles that play vintage cartridges. There are many that play a multitude of cartridge games, including Sega Genesis ones, but then there are also modern twists on the old classic like the Analog Mega Sg or even Sega's own Genesis Flashback to replace a dust-ridden console.
